"I feel sure there is at least one mistake on this page, but I have copied it from an old family Bible. This is regarding my half sister, Mary Sawyer."

"The records in the Bible shows her birth as July 8, 1834; death as Aug. 22, 1850, which would have made her 16 years old when she died. My first reason for doubting this is because these same Bible records show that my father and her mother were not married until December 29, 1836, which is two years after Mary's birth, as shown. Also, in 1834, my father would have been 17 years old, rather young to be married and be a father; and, also, from what I have been told by people that were much older than myself, she died much younger around six years old. I will leave it in this record as shown in the Bible record with this explanation." Henry Sawyer
